Installing Computer |
Check the hardware fittings. Is your computer or laptop parts have been assembled correctly, complete, and meet the minimum requirements to install a particular operating system. Better yet, if the supporting hardware such as network cards, printers, scanners, and so on have been installed on the computer before starting the installation. The goal is that the operating system will be able to automatically detect early computer devices that you have.
Fresh install or reinstall? Verify that the installation would you do on a new computer that does not have the operating system and computer programs, or done on a computer that already has an operating system plus application programs and data. Install process becomes easier and faster if done on a new computer. If you will do is reinstall (due to a previous operating system was already in trouble or want to change any other operating system), then make sure the data files of documents, images, photographs, films, and so on that you already have in your backup CD, flash disk, or at least be in a different location with a hard drive partition for installation later.
Determine which operating system you want to install to your computer. Are you going to install the OS Windows XP (Windows most popular), Windows 7 (the latest Windows), or install Ubuntu Linux (the operating system for free / opensource). If you want to install Windows, make sure you have set up the original CD of Windows that you purchased, including record serial numbers to be loaded when the computer running the install process. You could consider using the Ubuntu operating system because it is a free and complete with supporting application programs. If your computer does not have a CD / DVD (eg netbooks typically do not have this device), then consider whether you need to buy / borrow a CD / DVD drive or use an external flash as an installation source. As for how to prepare the operating system installer file on the flash chip may be covered in a separate post.
Prepare the driver cd. Later, after the operating system is installed to the computer, the possibility of a computer screen is not optimal, the sound is not heard, the printer can not be used, and so on. You will need a CD or floppy disk to install the drivers for VGA and sound card drivers, printer drivers, and other drivers additional devices. If you do not have it, you can download it on Internet sites related hardware manufacturer or look for an alternative to using a search engine.
Provide software and computer application program that you need. For example, in addition to the operating system, you will need a program office, graphic design software, antivirus, application help for internet access, favorite games, and computer system maintenance tool. If you are using Ubuntu Linux OS, chances are all readily available and you can skip this step.
Add other programs as needed. Dispose of unneeded software. Make sure you can remove the installation (uninstall) the programs that you have installed previously. Chances are, some of the software that you've installed or accidentally helped you installed it did not need or even you never wear. By removing unnecessary programs, in addition to enlarge the empty hard drive space will also speed up your computer performance.
